Two arrested in connection to fatal shooting at Norman apartment complex
NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — The Norman Police Department has arrested two people in connection with a fatal shooting that happened late Tuesday night.
According to officials, officers responded to a reported shooting near a pool at an apartment complex near 12th Avenue SE and Campus Crest Drive at around 11:26 p.m. Tuesday.
Once officers arrived at the scene, officers found a 22-year-old male with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities said that after an investigation, officers learned that a fight between several individuals had happened near the pool area, and during the fight, the suspect, a 16-year-old male, pulled out a gun and shot the victim before fleeing the area.
Following the help of witnesses, officers were able to quickly identify and find the individuals who were involved.
The 16-year-old was arrested on first-degree murder and possession of a firearm after adjudication. Officers also arrested 22-year-old Kaydron Hutchins for accessory after commission of felony.
Both individuals were booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center.
