Opelousas drug bust yields 3.5 lbs of marijuana, other drugs, guns
OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) -- Two people were arrested and large quantities of drugs, guns and cash seized in a search of a home in Opelousas, authorities said.
Jared Jarrell Anderson, 35, of Opelousas, is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, synthetic marijuana and cocaine, along with possession of drug praphernalia, transactions from drug offenses and five counts of possession of guns in the presence of drugs.
De’Shawn Lolita Randall, 33, of Opelousas, is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, synthetic marijuana and cocaine, possession of drug praphernalia and five counts of possession of guns in the presence of drugs.
The arrests stemmed from a search of a home on Tuesday on Annointing Drive in Opelousas, authorities said.
The search found approximately 3.5 lbs. of marijuana with an estimated street value of $5,000, approximately 18 grams of suspected powder cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,800, approximately 351 grams of synthetic marijuana with an estimated street value of $1,000, $5,000 in cash, a Stag AR-15 assault rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun and three pistols.
Anderson was booked into the St. Landry Parish jail and released on $55,250 bond, and Randall was booked and released on $30,250 bond.
