3 arrested during weekend parties following alleged explosives incident, stabbing
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Three people have been arrested following large weekend parties that allegedly resulted in explosives being thrown at officers as well as a stabbing, Buffalo police said Friday.
Two people, 21-year-old Quantrell Carson and 21-year-old Sliester Luther, were arrested at a gathering on the 400 block of Olympic Avenue around 12:30 a.m. on July 5.
Luther is accused of throwing a "large explosive device" that detonated in the area of 14 officers.
He is facing a total of 32 counts, including 14 counts of first-degree assault and 14 counts of aggravated assault upon a police officer. He is also facing a count of obstruction of governmental duties with a bomb.
As for Carson, it is alleged that he shot a "roman candle style projectile" at officers during a party. He is charged with obstruction of governmental administration and disorderly conduct.
The next night, police responded to a stabbing call at East Delavan Avenue and Grider Street. It is alleged that Nalah Eady, 20, stabbed a 26-year-old woman during a party. The woman was transported to ECMC by car to be treated for non-life threatening stomach, arm and face injuries.
Eady is charged with first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
