Big Powerball Winners Emerge From Two Different States
We have a few big winners from the Powerball drawing on Saturday, July 12, but nobody ended up winning the jackpot.
As a result, the Powerball jackpot for the next drawing on Monday, July 14, has risen to an estimated $248 million, which carries a cash value of $112.4 million, according to Powerball.com.
The winning numbers for the Saturday drawing, which had an estimated jackpot of $237 million, were 8, 16, 24, 33, 54 and Powerball 18.
While we're going another Powerball drawing without a jackpot winner, there were two players in different states who managed to hit on $1 million or more.
In Texas, one lucky winner hit on the Match 5 for a $1 million prize. That was only outdone by a different player in Wisconsin, who also matched five numbers but had the Power Play (2X) to boost the prize to $2 million.
The exact locations where the tickets were purchased remains unknown as of Sunday morning. If you're in one of those two states, make sure to check your tickets.
In addition, 11 different people won the $50,000 prize thanks to matching four numbers, and another five hit on $100,000 after matching four numbers and having the Power Play.
The odds of hitting on the four numbers to win the $50,000 prize are 1 in 913,129.18. The odds of winning the $1 million or jackpot prizes are 1 in 11.688 million and 1 in 292.2 million, respectively.
