Tickets to NYC screening of 'The Odyssey' sold out a year in advance
NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — Tickets to the first screening of the highly anticipated Christopher Nolan epic, "The Odyssey," sold out quickly — one year out from its scheduled release.
Tickets to the 70mm IMAX screenings were made available on Thursday at midnight a full calendar year before the film hits the big screen.
Initial screenings for Nolan's latest film, based on Homer's ancient epic, were made available for July 16, 2026, at theaters around the country that can support 70mm IMAX. One of those screens is at AMC Lincoln Square 13 in Manhattan, where tickets are now sold out.
As a follow-up to Nolan's 2023 smash-hit "Oppenheimer," the film will be the first-ever to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras. "Oppenheimer" was the first to be shot using black-and-white 65mm IMAX film for select scenes.
"The Odyssey" cast is loaded with star-studded talent: Matt Damon as Odysseus, Tom Holland as
Telemachus, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Robert Pattinson and many more are set to appear on screen in Nolan's 13th feature film.
PIX11 News reached out to AMC representatives about when more screenings would be made available, but has not received a reply.
