Legendary Wrestler Hulk Hogan Reportedly Dead at 71
WWE and professional wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71.
According to TMZ Sports, medics were called to the wrestling legend's Clearwater, Florida, home on Thursday morning because of a "cardiac arrest."
The report also states "a slew of police cars and EMTs were parked outside Hogan's home... and the icon was carried on a stretcher and into an ambulance."
Hogan's family has since confirmed his death to US Weekly.
This tragic news comes just a month after reports suggested Hogan was on his "deathbed" after he underwent a neck procedure back in May. Hogan's reps denied that was the case.
In June, US Weekly reported that Hogan had also undergone a "pretty serious heart surgery and was doing well afterward."
Hogan was one of the true legends of professional wrestling and is widely considered the greatest of all time.
He played a huge role in the explosion in popularity of the then-WWF in the 80s and was the face of the company for several years after becoming a household name and global icon.
Hogan left the company in 1993 and eventually landed with WCW, where he reinvented himself as a heel with Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and the NWO. The trio quickly took off and became one of the most popular wrestling factions in the history of the profession.
Hogan also enjoyed an acting career away from the ring. He had roles in several movies over the years, including in Rocky III, and was part of a hit reality television show, Hogan Knows Best, which followed him, his ex-wife Linda and two kids, Nick and Brooke.
Rest in peace to a true legend.
