Oakdale couple accused of child rape, human trafficking found in Tenn.
SURGOINSVILLE, Tenn. (KLFY) -- An Oakdale couple wanted in connection with human trafficking and child rape have been arrested in Tennessee, authorities said.
Tabitha Robison, 39, and Marvin Clement Jr., 40, both of Oakdale, were arrested on several charges.
Robison and Clement are each charged with:
- Sexual Battery
- First Degree Rape
- Indecent behavior with juvenile
- Contributing to the delinquency of juvenile
- Criminal conspiracy
- Human trafficking
- Licensing requirements
- Drug conspiracy
- Cultivation of marijuana with intent to distribute
- Improper supervision of a minor by parent or legal custodian
In addition, Clement is charged with:
- Domestic abuse aggravated assault
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
U.S. Marshals received information from Louisiana authorities on Tuesday that Robison and Clement were possibly in the Hawkins County, Tennessee area. Robinson and Clement have been wanted by the State of Louisiana since July 31, 2024, authorities said.
Marshals said they found Robison and Clement at a primitive campsite on the Holston River near Surgoinsville, Tenn. Team members were able to locate both fugitives at a camper where they were taken into custody without incident, officials said.
Robinson and Clement were both booked into the Hawkins County Jail awaiting extradition.
The victim, described by officials as "a very young minor," was not present with the couple at the time of the arrest and is in safe custody in Louisiana.
