Kristin Cabot Resigns From Astronomer After Coldplay Kiss Cam Controversy with Andy Byron
Another one bites the dust, as they say.
Andy Byron, former Astronomer CEO, resigned from the company July 19, days after he was allegedly spotted on Coldplay's kiss cam at a concert embracing one of his coworkers.
Kristin Cabot, who many believe to have been in the footage with Byron, just resigned too, on July 24. TMZ reported.
The pair were also caught on camera kissing and cuddling before the viral kiss cam video showed them embracing.
The news comes just days after Byron's wife Megan Byron was found holed up in a $2.4 million mansion several states away from the married couple's house in Massachusetts, according to the Daily Mail.
She's reportedly hiding out in the Kentucky mansion with friends and family.
Megan Byron has yet to publicly comment on the matter, though there have been quite a few fake statements published on her behalf.
Matter of fact, the whole controversy has resulted in an onslaught of fake statements from just about every party involved, from Coldplay to phony Astronomer employees.
The whole thing started back at the Coldplay concert on July 16 at Gillette Stadium where many believe now viral kiss cam footage shows the two caught in embrace, when Byron quickly ducked out of shot and Cabot covered her face with her hands.
Since that fateful day, the two have faced an onslaught of attention from all sides. Even the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team mocked the event at one of its games, using the team's mascots, "Phanatics," to reenact the video.
The internet has also had a field day, multiple to be accurate, creating memes making fun of the alleged affair as well as confusing fake statements, such as one that claims to be from Coldplay announcing future concerts would have camera-free zones for those engaged in extramarital activities.
Byron and Cabot have also yet to make public statements on the matter.
But that didn't stop Astronomer, the IT company they both used to work for, from launching a formal internal investigation that resulted in Byron being placed on leave shortly before he resigned.
"Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding," the company said when it launched the investigation. "Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability."
