Hulk Hogan's Family Issues Statement After Death of Legendary Wrestler
Hulk Hogan, the wrestler who transformed WWE in a big way beginning in the 1980s, has died at the age of 71.
Reports surfaced on Thursday about the famous wrestler in what was called a "cardiac arrest."
"Medics were dispatched to the 71-year-old WWE legend's Clearwater, Florida home early Thursday morning ... with operators stating it was regarding a 'cardiac arrest,'" TMZ wrote.
Now, Hogan's family has issued a statement on his passing on Hogan's official Instagram page.
"It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we confirm we have lost a legend. Our beloved Terry Bollea, known worldwide as Hulk Hogan, passed away today surrounded by his loved ones. At this time of grief, we ask that everyone please respect the privacy of his family and friends. May we all take solace in the wonderful memories he left behind for the millions of fans worldwide whose lives he touched for more than four decades. He will be missed, but never forgotten."

After the news came out, tributes came in left and right, ranging from celebrities to those in the wrestling world.
WWE also posted a message on X, calling Hogan "One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures."
Ric Flair and his daughter, Charlotte, also posted heartfelt messages on social media.
Hogan was responsible for bringing WWE into the national spotlight with his famous "Hulkamania" antics.
