“A thousand years ago when we first started this show, Eric Stonestreet came in, and he was a working day-player actor,” Clyde said during the panel. “He came in to audition to be one of the victims of Brian Moser. And he didn’t get the job. The next week, the week he would have been working for us as a victim of Brian Moser, he went and auditioned for Modern Family.”
According to Clyde, turning him down for being a victim of Dexter‘s Ice Truck Killer helped his career. He said during the panel, “So our saying ‘no’ created his good fortune.”
Now, Eric is back for the Dexter reboot series, Dexter: Resurrection with a much larger role than a guest spot as a murder victim.
