Search for missing swimmer at Far Rockaway beach
FAR ROCKAWAY, Queens (PIX11) -- A search is underway for a swimmer who went missing at a beach in Queens on Friday evening, police say.
The swimmer was last seen near Beach 20th Street and Seagirt Avenue in Far Rockaway just after 6 p.m., according to authorities.
Officials say two search teams have been canvassing the beach since Friday but have not turned up anything on the swimmer.
CitizenApp video from the beach shows various response teams, including the police and fire department, using boats and divers to search the water.
Details on who the swimmer might and what may have happened were not immediately made clear.
