Domestic dispute turned shooting leads to arrest in Lafayette
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A man has been arrested after allegedly shooting and hospitalizing their partner after a domestic dispute.
Officials arrested Berrien Brown, 25, of Lafayette, on one count of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies.
According to authorities, at approximately 8:26 p.m. on Friday, July 26, Lafayette Police officers responded to a shooting in progress in the 300 block of Adelma Street.
Officials said inside the residence, officers found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but has since undergone surgery and is expected to recover.
Officials learned Brown, the victim's domestic partner, allegedly shot the victim following an argument. Brown was later located and booked into a Lafayette Parish jail.
