"After last night’s flash flooding resulted in the early closure of State Fair Park, Wisconsin State Fair officials have determined the Fair Park will not reopen for Sunday, August 10. We understand the disappointment you may feel as our team works all year for these 11 days. However, the safety of our Fairgoers, team, partners, and vendors will always be our top priority," the fair wrote on its website.
The fair cancelled a concert by Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Happy Together tour.
On Aug. 9, the fair wrote, "The State Fair Park is closing. Please note that due to flash flooding, Tunnel Entrance F is no longer accessible. Please use the Main Stage and Turn 4 exits to access parking lots within the Milwaukee Mile. Follow the directions of the Fair Park staff and police as you exit."
