Program offers students real-world work experience
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – The Cristo Rey Columbus High School’s work study program kicked off Tuesday, looking to prepare students with real-world work experiences.
Students are able to participate in “speed chatting” with businesses and community leaders. The three-minute conversations are meant to help students sharpen their communication skills and boost their confidence in professional settings.
Both current and former students said the work study program is a big step toward preparing them to enter the workforce.
Cristo Rey’s work study program enables students to work five days a month in entry-level roles in fields like healthcare, law, finance, and technology.
Next week, students will find out which businesses they will work at this year.
