Cheese recalled from multiple NYC stores for potential Listeria
NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) -- Cheese distributor Fromi USA has recalled cases of its products sold at multiple stores in Brooklyn due to potential Listeria contamination, according to an announcement posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
According to the release, 12 cases of Brie Royal Faucon 1kg with the lot number 615 was recalled on Aug. 14 after the foreign manufacturer of the cheese was notified by its health authorities of potential Listeria contamination.
The cheese was distributed to the store Cheese Plate in Park Slope and Carroll Gardens. Anyone who may have purchased the product is urged to return it to the store for a full refund.
Listeria has the potential to cause high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea however no illness have been reported in connection with the cheese.
