Ryan Reynolds to Play a Villain in Netflix's Live-Action 'Eloise' Adaptation
Ryan Reynolds will play a villain in the upcoming live-action Eloise movie for Netflix.
The 49-year-old Deadpool star has been cast in what is being described as an “original villainous character” for the adaptation of Kay Thompson and Hilary Knight‘s beloved series of children’s books, shares The Hollywood Reporter.

Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino will direct and co-write with Hannah Marks and Linda Woolverton. Principal photography is expected to start later this month.
Written in the 1950s, Eloise follows a girl living on the top floor of New York City’s Plaza Hotel. She lives with her dog Weenies, her turtle Skipperdee, and her nanny. There have previously been a couple of made-for-TV movies based on the series.
The Netflix film will be an “original adventure” based on the story. The streamer is keeping the logline under wraps for now.
