BCCI explains why no Victory Parade is scheduled for Indian Women’s team, Here’s why
Team India Women’s created history as they won the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. This was the first title for the Indian team. They reached this biggest milestone.
The team beat one of the toughest rivals of the tournament, South Africa Women by 52 runs as the Women’s World also got the new champions after a long wait of 25 years. However, the main concern of the cricket fans is that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not planned any victory parade or celebration yet for the winning side.
However, no open bus parade or felicitation ceremony has been announced. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said the board has other matters to look into at the moment.
According to a report by IANS, the winners of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, the Indian team will celebrate the moment when the BCCI senior officials return from the ICC meetings in Dubai, which is scheduled from November 4 to 7. This means the Indian women’s team will have to wait for at least a week before they can celebrate their historic World Cup victory with the fans.
“Nothing like a victory parade is planned as of now,” Saikia told IANS while speaking from Mumbai airport. “I’m leaving for Dubai to attend the ICC meeting. Several officials are heading there as well, so once we return, we will plan accordingly.”
Devajit Saikia also said that ”We will take up the Asia Cup trophy matter with the ICC and hopefully get our trophy back with the respect and honour it deserves.“
