Bindi Irwin’s Daughter Grace Is the Cutest Animal Whisperer as She ‘Shares Thoughts’ With a Tortoise
Just call her Dr. Doolittle (Dr. Gracelittle?), because Bindi Irwin’s daughter Grace Warrior is officially an animal whisperer! The 4-year-old wildlife conservationist-in-training can “share thoughts” with her best animal friend now, and the photo is so precious.
“Best friends seem to share thoughts,” Bindi’s mom (and Grace’s “bunny”) Terri Irwin wrote on Instagram this week. “So much love.????”
Terri shared a picture of her only granddaughter dressed like a Disney princess in a floor-length green ballgown with ruffled sleeves and a floral bodice, which she has accessorized with a beaded bracelet, a heart ring, and white satin flats. Her brown hair is up in a bun as she leans forward to touch the head of her best friend, a tortoise named Igloo. The huge tortoise comes up to Grace’s waist, and they both look lost in thought as Grace stares down at him and Igloo chews on a leaf. We wish we could give a penny for their thoughts right now!
“Grace gets more adorable every single day! She is the sweetest! ????????????” one person commented. Another wrote, “Grace and Igloo are the bestest of friends ❤️????????????”
Someone else said, “I bet they can practically read each others minds ????❤️.”
Bindi, her husband Chandler Powell, their daughter Grace, Terri, and Bindi’s brother Robert Irwin spent the last several months in Los Angeles as Robert competed on Dancing With the Stars. Upon returning home to Australia Zoo last month, the first thing Grace did was hang out with Igloo.
“H O M E. ???? The first thing Grace wanted to do? See her best friend, Igloo. @australiazoo” Bindi captioned a video on Instagram. In it, Grace wears a blue dress and runs up to her animal friend saying, “Hi, I missed you!” So sweet!
Grace has loved Igloo since she was a baby. In a Jan. 2022 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Bindi told the outlet that Grace’s best friend is “an Aldabra tortoise.”
“His name is Igloo and, no joke, he comes up to here on me, like up to my waist. He’s massive and the cutest,” Bindi gushed about the creature. “When he sees Grace, he runs across his paddock, which is huge. If you’re a tortoise, you can’t really run very fast, but he does his best, runs across the paddock to see her and just sits. She tries to pat him, and she just ends up kind of like hitting him on the head.”
Bindi added, “They love each other! It’s the funniest thing you’ve ever seen. I love that my daughter’s best friend is a tortoise.”
