Crumbl's Sawyer Hemsley Reveals How He & Boyfriend Antonio Bruno Met, Shares Coming Out Advice
Sawyer Hemsley is opening up about the way he and his boyfriend Antonio Bruno met, and it’s very much of the times!
The 34-year-old co-founder of Crumbl cookies took some time on Friday (December 26) to do a Q&A while he was on a flight to New York City.
Amid answering a slew of different kinds of questions, he took time to share the story of how he and Antonio met, gushed about what he loves about his beau and even shared more of his coming out story, while offering some advice.

“I found his profile on Instagram almost two years ago. I liked one of his stories. He was sharing a workout and he replied, ‘Hi, Cookie Monster!’ We never stopped talking after that,” Sawyer shared on his Instagram story. “We built a friendship first. Lots of FaceTimes, check-ins, and staying connected without ever forcing the next step. I wanted to visit him so many times, but the timing was never quite right. Looking back, everything really did happen exactly how it was supposed to. Life has a way of doing that.”
“A lot of people are surprised we had been talking for so long before anything became official. Things naturally shifted earlier this summer. I came out in August and he made that step feel easy and safe,” he continued. “There is so much more to the story, but I guess we have plenty of time for that.”
If you recall, Sawyer came out as gay publicly back in August, and the following month, he went public with his relationship with Antonio.
During his Q&A, Sawyer shared things he likes about his boyfriend, as well as his favorite thing about their relationship.
“The way he makes me laugh until my stomach hurts. His smiles and winks,” he said. “The good morning and goodnight texts. Our conversations, bear hugs, adventures, and having someone to do life with.”
He also responded to a question about advice for someone going through a similar journey of coming out and the fear of it.
