Serie A: Roma vs. Genoa – Confirmed line-ups
Paulo Dybala, Matias Soule and Evan Ferguson all start together for Roma on Monday evening, as former captain Daniele De Rossi returns to the Stadio Olimpico with his Genoa side in Serie A on Monday evening.
The Giallorossi are looking to get back to winning ways after a 2-1 defeat against Juventus last time out in Serie A. A victory on Monday evening will see them leapfrog the Bianconeri into fourth place.
Genoa have only won once in December so far: A 2-1 victory away against Udinese on the 8th of the month. They have since been beaten 2-1 by Inter and 1-0 by Atalanta in the run-up to Christmas.
Roma are without Tommaso Baldanzi on Monday night as he misses out through illness. There is a boost for the Giallorossi attack, as Artem Dovbyk returns after missing the last five league fixtures, but he starts among the substitutes on Monday night.
Paulo Dybala, Matias Soule and Ferguson are chosen to lead the Roma attack against Genoa.
Mario Hermoso has been declared fit enough to start in the back three, along with Gianluca Mancini and Jan Ziolkowski. Evan Ndicka is away with the Ivory Coast national team for the Africa Cup of Nations, as is midfielder Neil El Aynaoui with Morocco.
This is De Rossi’s first trip back to the Stadio Olimpico since being dismissed as Roma head coach last September.
Goalkeeper Nicola Leali was sent off after three minutes against Atalanta last week, so is replaced by Daniele Sommariva between the posts. Leo Ostigard also returns to the back three in place of Alessandro Marcandalli in Genoa’s only other change. Caleb Ekuban and Vitinha start up front again.
Kick-off is due at 19.45 GMT.
