Visual Proof You Should Pack a Twin Fin for Indonesia
Nobody packs an Indonesian quiver like William Aliotti. Peek into his board bag and instead of a series of ever-larger thrusters and step-ups, you’ll find something out of left field. His tools of choice for rifling, obnoxiously perfect waves are an eccentric but highly refined group of asymmetrical surfboards.
This is not a new phenomenon for William. For years, he and his longtime shaper Ryan Lovelace (along with Ryan Burch and Bryce Young) have been at the bleeding edge of asymmetrical surfboards. While the eye-catching shapes may not be to everyone’s fancy, their demonstrations in high caliber, pulsing waves have dismissed the novelty factor. These boards can work, and if handled correctly, work very, very well.
The term “Jungle Fever” might conjure haze-filled images of delirium from Apocalypse Now, but there’s nothing unpleasant about William’s new edit. I’d probably go a little loopy myself if I saw the inside of as many tubes as the 31-year-old does in this 12 and a half minute edit.

The drop coincides with William’s announcement that he is leaving team Volcom after 15. Remarkable that a guy from a tiny Caribbean island rocked the Stone for almost half his life.
I'm not sure what's next for William, but considering his connections to the Mentawai Islands, Kandui Resort, there's plenty more to come. The only question is what will be in his board bag.
