Martha Stewart Names the NBA Player That Broke Her Toe
Martha Stewart now knows not to wear open-toed shoes to a basketball game.
Back in May, the 84-year-old business mogul attended Game One of the 2025 NBA Eastern Conference Finals between the Indiana Paces and the New York Knicks where she sat courtside.
During the game, Martha, who was wearing open-toed sandals, broke her toe when an NBA player “came crashing down” on her.

“I have the Brunson fracture,” Martha said. “He stepped on my big toe on this foot.”
The accident happened with five minutes left in the game, but it went into overtime, preventing Martha from getting up sooner and getting her toe looked at.
She said that she “immediately” knew that her toe was broken, joking that she could only wear open-toed shoes now that she hurt her foot.
Martha also said despite the high-stakes game, Jalen, 29, was “cool as a cucumber” and wasn’t sweating when he fell on her. While Jalen didn’t know that he had injured her, Martha later discussed the incident with his parents.
“I told his parents,” she said. “I met his parents…And they were laughing. They thought it was so funny. All I got out of it was a signed basketball for my grandchild.”
If you didn’t see, Martha revealed the surprising name her grandkids call her.
