Another Major Bike Brand Moves Their US HQ to Colorado
Giant Group USA — the U.S. arm of the world’s largest bicycle manufacturer — has announced it will relocate its headquarters from Newbury Park, California, to Boulder, Colorado, beginning early this year, with most staff expected to be settled in by late summer or early fall 2026.
The move is part of a strategic shift to position Giant closer to one of North America’s most active cycling and outdoor hubs. Company leadership highlighted Boulder’s robust cycling infrastructure, outdoor culture, and deep industry network as key reasons for the relocation.
“Boulder offers a unique combination of community, terrain, and industry partnership opportunities that align perfectly with Giant’s mission and business vision,” said Chris Lai, Operations General Manager for Giant USA.
Giant’s business general manager, Angelo Mascelli, added that the relocation will “energize our team” and help the brand better serve retailers, athletes, and riders across the U.S., while also reinforcing its commitment to advancing product innovation and broader brand experiences.
Why Boulder?
Cycling has long been embedded in Boulder’s identity. With an expansive trail network, near-year-round riding opportunities, and a dense outdoor enthusiast community, the city has attracted a range of bike brands, athletes, and industry organizations. Giant isn’t the first to make the move — other cycling companies have similarly relocated operations to the area to capitalize on its talent pool, testing terrain, and community engagement.
For Giant, this shift places its U.S. headquarters in a region that not only aligns with its brand ethos but also helps position the company for future growth across road, mountain, gravel, and commuter categories.
What It Means for Riders and the Industry
Giant has assured that retailer support, rider services, and operations will continue uninterrupted throughout the transition, with professional relocation partners helping to ensure a smooth move.
Industry observers see the move as another signal of Boulder’s growing influence in the cycling world, as more brands and events anchor themselves in Colorado’s Front Range.
For Giant, planting deeper roots in Boulder could mean closer connections with athletes, faster real-world product feedback loops, and a stronger foothold in the heart of the U.S. cycling community.
