Serious accident in St Philip
Update
Two people were killed in a collision involving two motor cars along Carrington Road, St Philip, around 2:45 p.m. today.
Police PRO Inspector (ag) Ryan Brathwaite spoke at the scene and said preliminary investigations indicate the two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when the collision occurred.
He said two occupants of one of the vehicles succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while two other occupants from that vehicle were transported by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical attention.
The driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries and elected to seek private medical treatment.
Brathwaite said investigations into the collision are continuing and the roadway remains cordoned off. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area at this time.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact the District C Police Station at 416-8200.
He also extended condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased.
