Kai Trump Says She Wants to ‘Stay Out’ of Politics
Kai Trump, granddaughter of President Donald Trump, doesn’t want to be involved with politics. She has plans to be a professional golfer and an influencer, and despite the fact that her ties to politics have been extremely helpful to both of those goals, the 18-year-old is apparently uninterested in the family business. On Tuesday, she appeared on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, where he asked her if Kamala Harris was “the opps” during the 2024 election. (Unsurprisingly, he totally butchered the pronunciation of “Kamala.”)
“To be honest with you, I stay out of politics completely,” Kai responded. “I would never run, I don’t want anything to do with politics because I feel like politics is such a dangerous thing. I think if both sides met in the middle everyone would be so much happier.” Returning to whether or not Harris was her “opps,” Kai insisted that there was “no bad blood” and “It is what it is.”
Later in the episode, Kai talked about the speech she made at the 2024 Republican National Convention, an appearance that did not make it seem like she was keeping her distance from politics. “I was the one who said I wanted to speak at the RNC,” she said, pushing back against the idea her presence was a ploy from her grandfather’s campaign to engage young voters. According to Kai, it was “all my idea.” Getting involved in politics in that way is fine, apparently.
If you find this young woman’s apolitical worldview to be refreshing and tasteful, maybe you would be interested in her merch, which she recently modeled in front of the White House. Of course, she’s staying out of politics, but maybe you would like to see how a Kai Trump–branded crewneck looks on the South Lawn? Just in case.
