Timothy Busfield Breaks Silence on Allegations, Surrenders to Police
Timothy Busfield has reportedly surrendered to the police in New Mexico, days after an arrest warrant was issued for him.
The former West Wing actor is facing two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse. He has been accused of sexually abusing two boys, who were allegedly 7 and 8 at the time, on the set of The Cleaning Lady when he was directing an episode in 2022.
It was reported that Timothy could not be located in the days following the arrest warrant being issued and the U.S. Marshals Service stepped in to assist in finding him.
Timothy has now released a video statement, which was recorded at his lawyer’s office in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

“Hi everybody, it’s Tim,” he says in the clip, provided to TMZ. “I’m sure most of you know, that are watching this, that I was ordered to come to Albuquerque – I’m here now. I got the call Friday night, I had to get a lawyer. Saturday I got in the car, drove 2,000 miles to Albuquerque. I’m gonna confront these lies. They’re horrible.”
“They’re all lies and I did not do anything to those little boys and I’m gonna fight it. I’m gonna fight it with a great team, and I’m gonna be exonerated, I know I am, because this is all so wrong and all lies,” Timothy added. “So hang in there and hopefully I’m out real soon and back to work. I love everybody for supporting me, thank you.”
Timothy has surrendered to law enforcement, but maintains his innocence.
Timothy‘s wife Melissa Gilbert has left social media amid the allegations and a report claims she was on speakerphone during a police call.
