The Traitors' Matthew Comes Clean About 'Awkward' Gratuitous Shower Scene
This article contains spoilers for Thursday’s edition of The Traitors.
Seeing snippets of the Faithfuls cast “relaxing” in their hotel rooms as their futures in the competition hang in the balance has slowly become one of The Traitors viewers’ favourite things about the show – and in the last few seasons, gratuitous shower scenes have become something of an annual tradition.
First, there was season three’s Freddie, which was followed last year by Olympian Tom Daley on the inaugural celebrity series.
And in Thursday night’s episode, contestant Matthew Hyndman was welcomed into the fold with a shower scene of his own.
Laughing off the furore around the steamy shot, Matt posted a clip on his Instagram on Friday, with both Fredde and Tom popping up in his Instagram comments.

“Literally the most awkward thing to film,” the diving gold medallist, commented, with Freddie agreeing: “Tell them again.”
Matt then responded: “I went through a whole bottle of Radox.”
“Welcome to the holy trio,” Freddie also commented.
Earlier in the season, Matt raised eyebrows when a shot of him away from the castle showed him performing a headstand in his underwear, with the creative director and queer rights campaigner even having his own Instagram page specifically dedicated to his scantily-clad gymnastic abilities.
Thursday’s edition of The Traitors ended on a cliffhanger, with resident “Traitors” Rachel and Stephen once again deciding to “murder” rather than “seduce”, with Jessie, Matthew and Faraaz’s fates all uncertain for the time being (although fans reckon they’ve worked out one tell-tale clue).
Earlier in the episode, Stephen also looked to be on shaky ground, as Jessie began once again piecing together evidence that indicated he was a Traitor.
The Traitors continues on Friday night at 8pm on BBC One, ahead of last week’s final run of episodes for the current series.
