Sophie Turner Reflects on Early Motherhood & the Career Pause That Followed
Sophie Turner is reflecting on what it was like to become a mother at such a young age.

But on the downside, taking that break has meant having to “rebuild” her acting career and get back into the swing of things.
After the HBO drama wrapped, she said “it just felt like the right break to focus on me, because I’d been a character for so long. Nesting and being at home was amazing. But the flipside of it, and Covid didn’t help, was that this was a big break from the career. And I’ve had to try to rebuild, in a way. You don’t realize how important momentum is in a career, and I stalled it a bit.”
She and Joe formally divorced in September 2024 after filing about a year before that. Since then, Sophie has moved back to the U.K. with daughters, Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3.
Sophie has a busy year ahead of her as her new series Steal arrives on Amazon Prime Video on January 21 and she’s also starting production on Tomb Raider, in which she plays the lead role of Lara Croft. Check out the first look at her in her Lara costume!
