Dark Seas’ New Film Is A Classic Ode To The North Shore
The Dark Seas crew set up camp, rain or shine, at Rocky Point for the first week of the new year at North Shore’s favorite skatepark for their latest clip, Finders Keepers.
Filmed by Joe Duerr, Henry Michaelis, Grant Duncan, and John King it features the surfing of Duran Barr, Dylan Hord, and Schuyler Allen, and introduces young gun Walker Hawes into the mix as the team throws down from Turkeys to Ronnie Bowl plus a sneaky little session down the way.
Conditions ranged from good to great despite sporadic bouts of rain and wind throughout the week. Sky Allan said, "Having Hawes around for his first time definitely upped the energy for everybody, he was frothing to surf all day. We got lucky with some good windows and had a great time out there."
"Duran Barr brought a special quad fin with glass-ons that his dad made him, and was relieved to see it arrive unscathed and is now stashed on the North Shore because traveling with glass-ons is always a risky move."

North Shore outlook
Right now, a moderate northwest swell is pushing into the North Shore, bringing overhead sets and solid surf through midweek. Long-period NW energy is building with consistent pulses aimed at the stretch between Sunset and Waimea and surrounding breaks, surfers can expect head-high to well-overhead surf through the morning sessions if the wind cooperates. Winds are forecast to be somewhat showery or breezy from the northeast, which isn't an ideal direction but should be manageable through certain windows.
We'll keep our eyes tuned for any XXL action brewing in the Pacific but for now the big wave attention continues to be in the Atlantic as another massive storm is en route for Europe. Will Nazaré have an all-time day or will it be too stormy to surf?
