As a shopping writer who browses the internet for business and personal reasons, there are only a couple of things that excite me. One is when something new drops (although that brings a level of stress with it), and the other is a restock alert. There’s something so joyful about being able to attain an item that has been out of stock for a while. So, you can imagine the delight when I discovered that Quince restocked its coveted Royal Osetra Caviar.
Like many, I had no idea that Quince carried things beyond just basic home and lifestyle items. Of course, I knew that they sold five-star hotel-level bedding and high-end dinnerware, but taking it a step further and offering luxury fine dining is another level. Quince expanded their edible offerings with luxury wines and champagne like vintage Dom Perignon or a limited-edition 2022 Chardonnay, which all sounds so luxurious and inviting. But the real excitement is that they quietly restocked their caviar just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Quince initially put caviar on their website towards the end of 2024. Since then, the delicious tin of fish eggs has sold out three times and will likely sell out a fourth time with this restock. And after selling out three times, it’s easy to wonder, so what’s the big deal? Well, for starters, the price. Quince is known for being the affordable destination for all things luxurious. You can find plush cashmere sweaters for $50 and diamond jewelry for under $200, which is well below market price and also make for great Valentine’s Day gifts.
Compared to other high-end caviar brands like Stur or Imperia that easily cost upwards of $200 a tin, Quince’s Royal Osetra offers the same quality (if not better, according to some reviews) but for just $125. And if you buy two or more, it’s just $100 a tin — which is so unbeatable and explains why it sold out expeditiously.
Aside from the price, Quince’s caviar is actually delicious. The brand describes the large pearls as “buttery, nutty, and oceanic.” Which has my mouth watering already and with Valentine’s Day here, I can’t imagine a better occasion to enjoy something so delectable.
Currently, it has an extremely impressive 4.9-star rating with over 500 reviews, where almost all of them sing praises for this gorgeous tin. “Absolutely beautiful caviar,” one shopper exclaimed. “It was delicious, decadent, and very reasonably priced.”
Another shopper wrote that, “there aren’t enough O’s in ‘smooth’ to describe this osetra,” and continued by saying, “it’s the perfect blend of nuttery, nutty, and tangy,” in their five-star review. Not to mention, there were plenty of other shoppers who regularly enjoyed caviar from brands like Imperia, but were “surprised” by how good the taste was for a can that could cost at least half as much.
If you’re looking to wow your date or your gal’s this Valentine’s Day or just want a decadent treat for yourself, getting a tin of Quince’s Royal Osetra Caviar is the way to go. You can get it only at Quince.com for $125 a tin or $100 a tin if you purchase two or more.
