There’s A Good Reason Why Roxy’s Traitors Reveal Reaction Wasn’t Shown
This article contains major spoilers for Thursday night’s episode of The Traitors.
It was another 10/10 episode of The Traitors on Thursday night.
Stephen and Rachel’s longstanding Traitor alliance started to crumble at the Round Table as Faraaz continued his transformation into “Faraazatha Christie”, hot on Rachel’s case despite her going largely unscrutinised throughout the series by the Faithfuls.
But rewind to the start of the episode, and we saw Roxy getting “murdered”, reiterating her belief one last time that the Traitors couldn’t possibly be her pals Rachel or Stephen as she said goodbye to the castle.
Naturally, for that reason alone fans couldn’t wait to see how Roxy would react to discovering the truth after leaving the game.
This feature has become a much-loved fixture of The Traitors: Uncloaked – the sister series hosted by Ed Gamble – with viewers tuning in immediately after the episode to see recently “banished” or “murdered” contestants discovering who the real “Traitors” are.
However, while Roxy did appear on the show alongside her mum and fellow contestant Judy, we didn’t get to see the famous scroll reveal or her discovery that her closest friends had stabbed her in the back.
Cue the wrath of Traitors fans.
Uncloaked! What the hell?

I have a strong feeling that the reason why UNCLOAKED didn’t show Roxy’s reaction to finding out who the traitors were is because she torched the whole room????#TheTraitors#TraitorsUKpic.twitter.com/avKH71OQFW
However, there was a reason for this omission, and it all comes down to the episode’s cliffhanger ending.
Usually we’re treated to a “murder” and a “banishment” in each episode of The Traitors, but last night’s Round Table saw a tie-break situation with Claudia Winkleman bringing out the “Chests of Chance” to decide if Rachel or James would leave the game.
Agonisingly, producers decided to roll the credits before revealing whose chest contained a shield, thus keeping them in the game.
On The Traitors: Uncloaked the Traitors reveal is usually filmed with both the “banished” and “murdered” contestants side by side, meaning Roxy’s reaction would have spoiled the cliffhanger and revealed the “banished” contestant.
Just in case we needed another reason to tune in to tonight’s final…
The Traitors final airs tonight at 8.30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
