Alex Honnold Snaps Selfie Atop Taipei 101 After Successfully Completing Free Climb
Alex Honnold successfully climbed to the top of Taipei 101!
The 40-year-old climber did a free solo climb up the Taiwanese tower during the livestreamed Skyscraper Live special on Netflix on Sunday morning (January 25)/Saturday night (January 24), depending on your time zone.
After completing the 101-story climb in an hour and 35 minutes, Alex took out his phone to take a selfie to document the moment of free climbing one of the world’s tallest buildings.

“This is so cool!” he says in a clip. “I’m so psyched. And you know what, pretty tired actually. The whole top of the building is pretty physical, and I was like, oh my arms are starting to get…”
He then made his way back down a little bit and reunited with his wife Sanni McCandless Honnold, who was on hand during the climb.
