The Traitors Winner Makes Huge Admission About That £47K Prize Money
This article contains major spoilers for the finale of The Traitors UK.
Newly-crowned Traitors winner Stephen has admitted he’s still waiting for the moment his winnings come in.
Over the course of the most recent season of the Bafta-winning reality show, Stephen and fellow Traitor Rachel managed to lie and deceive their way to the final, becoming the first pair of Traitors to ever win the show.
As a result, they split the £95,750 prize money right down the middle, taking away £47,875 each, although he has now claimed that the money is yet to come his way.
During an interview on Monday’s edition of This Morning, he revealed: “It’s not in the account yet. I’m not checking because I just want to get a nice surprise when it finally comes in. But yeah, not yet.”
On the subject of exactly what he’ll be splashing the cash on, he joked: “Obviously, some new jumpsuits on the cards.”
Stephen then added: “I’ve left my job so, really, it’s allowing me to just survive for the next wee while as well.”
As for Rachel, she revealed in the castle that she’d be using the money to treat her family, including her mum, who has Parkinson’s and dementia.
However, she also shared a new way she intends to use the money, and she’s quite literally taking a leaf out of her Traitors rival Amanda’s book.
Those who are already missing The Traitors on their screens will be relieved to hear that its celebrity counterpart will be returning to BBC One later this year with an exciting new star-studded cast.
Before that, though, there are always the several international versions of the show to stream on BBC iPlayer, not to mention The Traitors live experience in London, allowing fans to put themselves at the centre of the action.
