The WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series Just Got a Major New Partner
Monster Energy has been named a main partner of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series, signing on as the series’ Official Energy Drink under a new long-term agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports.
Beginning in 2026, Monster Energy will have a significant presence across all 14 rounds of the global series, with branding integrated both trackside and throughout broadcast coverage, alongside fan-focused activations at each venue.
The partnership further solidifies Monster’s role in top-level mountain biking, adding the World Series to a long list of action-sports properties the brand already supports from motocross, to skateboarding, snowboarding, and freeride mountain biking.
“This partnership is a huge moment for the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series,” said Chris Ball, Vice President of Cycling Events at WBD Sports. “Monster Energy is one of the most recognized brands in action sports, and their commitment speaks volumes about the momentum and global appeal of mountain bike racing.”
Monster Energy’s involvement comes at a pivotal time for the series, which has undergone major changes since WBD Sports took over promotional rights in 2023. The WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series now operates as a unified global platform spanning downhill, cross-country, enduro, and e-enduro, with an increased emphasis on broadcast reach, digital storytelling, and fan engagement.
For Monster Energy, the partnership reinforces a long-standing connection to mountain biking culture.
“Mountain biking has always been part of Monster Energy’s DNA,” said Daniel McHugh, Chief Marketing Officer at Monster Energy. “The WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series represents the pinnacle of competition in the sport, and we’re excited to support the athletes, fans, and communities that make it special.”
Fans can expect Monster Energy branding to appear across event venues, broadcast graphics, and dedicated activation zones designed to enhance the on-site experience. While specific activation details have not yet been announced, WBD Sports emphasized that the partnership is focused on growing the sport’s audience and improving the overall spectator experience.
The 2026 WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series season is set to kick off May 1 in South Korea, marking the series’ return to Asia for the first time in more than 25 years.
As mountain biking continues to navigate a challenging economic climate, the addition of a major non-endemic sponsor like Monster Energy signals continued confidence in the sport’s global reach — and its ability to attract mainstream brands without losing its edge.
