Monoprice Monolith HTP-1 Receives Dirac Live Active Room Treatment
Swedish digital audio pioneer Dirac announced that Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART) is now available on the Monoprice Monolith™ HTP-1 home theater processor. The collaboration elevates performance with cleaner bass, improved clarity, and enhanced spatial precision.
“Dirac Live ART is redefining what’s possible in-home theater sound correction,” said Fredric Tapper, Dirac’s Vice President and Head of Business Development. “By bringing this technology to the Monolith HTP-1, we’re empowering more users to experience a level of realism, control, and immersion that previously required professionally treated rooms or with highly complex systems.”
By intelligently analyzing and adjusting how sound interacts within the room, Dirac Live ART achieves results that traditionally require extensive physical treatment. The outcome is a tighter, more articulate bass and a wider, more coherent sweet spot.
The Monolith HTP-1 is a 16-channel balanced pre-processor designed for uncompromising audio fidelity, connectivity, and control. With support for leading immersive formats including Dolby Atmos®, DTS:X, and Auro-3D, the HTP-1 has become a centerpiece for serious home theater enthusiasts. With the option to upgrade to Dirac Live Active Room Treatment, the full Dirac Live suite can now be utilized to deliver an even higher level of precision and consistent acoustics across every seat in the room.
First introduced in 2023, Dirac Live ART transforms a system’s existing speakers and subwoofers into a cooperative acoustic control network that actively manages low-frequency resonances and reflections. Powered by Dirac’s patented MIMO (Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output) technology, ART enables every speaker to work together to smooth bass behavior, minimize decay time, and produce a more natural, balanced soundstage throughout the listening area.
“Our collaboration with Dirac reflects a shared commitment to advancing home theater performance,” said Hobie Sechrest, Business Unit Manager, Monolith Series at Monoprice. “By bringing Dirac Live Active Room Treatment to the Monolith HTP-1, we’re giving customers access to professional-grade acoustic control in their own homes. This collaboration marks an important step in making studio-grade performance more accessible to serious enthusiasts around the world.”
Dirac Live ART builds on the company’s proven Dirac Live Room Correction, which optimizes magnitude and phase response to overcome the limitations of traditional EQ, and Dirac Live Bass Control, which uses machine learning to co-optimize subwoofers and speakers for consistent low-end performance. Together, they form Dirac’s most advanced home-theater optimization platform to date.
Users can now upgrade their Monolith™ HTP-1 devices with Dirac Live ART for $299, by purchasing a license here.
Dirac Live ART is available as an add-on to the existing Dirac Live portfolio and can be purchased as a stand-alone license or bundled with Dirac Live Bass Control.
