Kylie Kelce Reveals Her Daughters Are ‘Fascinated’ With the Word ‘Penis’ & Ask Her ‘How Babies Get Here’
If there’s one thing about kids, they are going to ask questions. No matter how awkward, invasive, embarrassing, or messy — they want to know. And it’s our job as parents to explain it to them in the easiest to understand, age-appropriate way, which is easier said than done. That’s why we’re so thankful for Kylie Kelce! The mom of four opened up about the no-nonsense way she handles tough conversations with her daughters, like “how babies get here,” and revealed that they are currently “fascinated” with the word “penis.”
On a new episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast, Kelce answered a fan question about the “most outrageous question” she’s been asked about where babies come from by her daughters Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley, 9 months, who she shares with husband Jason Kelce.
“Yikes. I have been asked by both older children how babies get in your belly or how babies get here,” the field hockey coach answered, per PEOPLE. “And my answer right now is always the same. When two people love each other enough their love gets them a baby. I like that because it explains plenty of situations, including less traditional situations and we navigate those things when they come up.”
In the podcast, Kelce continued that she likes that simple explanation because “it’s just people love each other and people want babies and then they get babies and that’s how they get here — because of love,” she continued. “Done. I really do my best not to complicate things.”
How beautiful is that? I’m totally stealing that for the next time my kids ask, because this questions always makes me freeze.
Kelce isn’t one to “unzip the f—ing projector screen and, like, ‘Here’s a diagram’” of reproduction or anything like that, which I can totally respect. However, she is careful to use correct terminology when referencing reproductive organs, which will help the girls be set up for more in-depth conversations later.
“I will tell you, in terms of things that will later apply to this conversation, we refer to all of our body parts with the correct anatomical terms,” the podcast host said. “And that’s as far as we go right now. We’re fascinated with the word penis. Fascinated. That’s what happens when you’re a house full of ‘ginas.'”
As a mom of all boys, this is so funny to me! It definitely makes me feel better when my sons have never-ending questions about what a vagina is!
Kelce appeared on The Today Show today, where she chatted about motherhood, joking that she’s doing “not great” right now. “It’s nuts. It’s absolute chaos in our house. I’m unsure what this morning looks like, but Jason’s there to man it, so it’s fine,” she added.
We love her for keeping it real, always!
