Football Games Today: Are There College or NFL Games on TV?
The opponents are set for the Super Bowl, and that game is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 8, at 6:30 p.m. on NBC, with the New England Patriots taking on the Seattle Seahawks in San Francisco.
But, are there football games today on TV? Also, are there any college or NFL games left this season, aside from the big game? The good news is that, yes, there is football on TV today.
One Football Game is on TV Today
The college football season is over and ended on Monday, Jan. 19, with the Indiana Hoosiers towering over the Miami Hurricanes, 27-21, to win the national championship. So, there are no college football games left for the 2025-26 season anymore.
But, there's one big football game on TV today. The 2026 Senior Bowl is set for Saturday, Jan. 31, and this year's game is the 77th edition of the event. The game will take place at Hancock Whitney Stadium on the campus of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, and will kick off at 2:30 p.m. ET. It will air on the NFL Network.
"The Panini Senior Bowl is the premier college football all-star game and the official first step in the NFL Draft process," the event's description states. "For more than 76 years, Mobile, Alabama has proudly hosted this historic event, making it the longest continually running all-star game in football."
As for the history of the Senior Bowl, it started in Jacksonville, Florida, where Auburn quarterback Travis Tidwell showed off his stuff with 227 passing yards and two touchdown. Tidwell was also the event's first MVP.
"For the first time, the Senior Bowl was broadcast nationally," the event's official website states. "LSU's Jim Taylor (future Hall of Famer) powered the North to a 15–13 win, while Illinois' Ray Nitschke starred on defense. A missed South field goal in the final seconds sealed the thriller."
2026 Senior Bowl Players to Watch
Lance Zierlein and Eric Edholm of the NFL's website note that two players to watch in the 2026 Senior Bowl are Miami center James Brockermeyer, Baylor wide receiver Josh Cameron, Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green, John Carroll University wide receiver Tyren Montgomery and Arkansas senior Mike Washington Jr.
Regarding Green, they say, "In a draft light on quarterback headliners beyond Fernando Mendoza, Green should be garnering buzz thanks to his rare physical attributes and skill set. At 6-foot-6 and with a wingspan of nearly seven feet, his long arms create a longer release and his accuracy is spotty."
