Lazio sign Przyborek, but Sarri refusing to let Romagnoli leave
Lazio have officially signed Adrian Przyborek, but Alessio Romagnoli’s sale to Al-Sadd was reportedly blocked by Maurizio Sarri.
The Aquile were in action last night with a chaotic 3-2 Serie A victory over Genoa at the Stadio Olimpico.
It was played in a largely empty stadium, as fans were on strike in protest at the transfer strategy and lack of investment so far this season.
Lazio bring in Przyborek, but keep Romagnoli
There is a new buy for the club, as Przyborek completed his transfer from Pogon Szczecin at a cost of €4.5m plus €2m in add-ons and a 20 per cent cut of the future sale fee.
The versatile creative midfielder just turned 19 this month.
Lazio fans had been bracing themselves for the exit of Romagnoli, but the defender and lifelong Aquile supporter is reportedly not getting his requested move to Al-Sadd.
The transfer window shuts in Qatar this evening and Sky Sport Italia report there simply isn’t time to get it over the line now.
Transfer pundit Matteo Moretto claims Sarri was essential to blocking the exit, as he warned losing Romagnoli would significantly weaken the Biancocelesti squad.
It remains to be seen how the player will deal with this situation, as he was pushing hard to leave.
