Justin added, “It’s been a wild year to say the least. Came out swinging, winning 2 of the first 4 Division 7 races, and then was picking myself up off the track and loading what looked like complete junk onto a flatbed. I sat out while healing and watched the local track championship slip between my fingers. It was hard to keep my mind straight and focused on the divisional series.

I attribute my recovery and mental health through all this to my sobriety. It was tough at times, and I had moments where I wanted to just give up, but I pushed through and got the bike back together for the remaining 3 races. After just a few laps, I started to find my groove again.

Being able to hold the #1 plate in D7 for the next year means so many different things. It will be an honor to have my name added to the list of racers who have held this title before me. It will be a reminder of what dedication, hard work, and perseverance can do. I would like to thank my wife, Marle for getting me into drag racing, teaching me the ropes, and keeping the spending in check.

My father-in-law, Tom Patterson, for his years of knowledge and experience, my mother-in-law, Jen, for the data logging and keeping the team fed, and Jeremy Hoffman for his hands at the track and on the line. And last but not least, the division 7 motorcycle guys and gals for being great competitors on track and even better friends off.”

We would like to thank all the NHRA Pacific Division staff and crew, all the racetracks staff and crews. Bob Johnson Photography for all the great pictures all year. Also to DragRaceCentral.com for the race results and of course Brandi at Dragbike.com for posting our reports.
