New 'All-American' Halftime Show Emerges as Alternative to Bad Bunny - Here's The Lineup
Bad Bunny made headlines over the weekend when he used a Grammy acceptance speech to deliver a strong message protesting the recent actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Bad Bunny Calls for Love
As the six-time Grammy winner accepted best música urbana album, Bad Bunny began his speech saying, “Before I say thanks to God, I’m gonna say: ICE out! We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans."
Just a week before he's set to take the national stage at the Super Bowl, Bad Bunny, whose birth name is, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, called for the hate to end.
“I know it’s tough not to hate on these days, and I was thinking, sometimes we get contaminados – I don’t know how to say that in English – the hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love. So, please, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love."
Just hours later, Turning Point USA, a conservative group, revealed its lineup for an alternative Super Bowl halftime show branded as the "All-American" alternative to Bad Bunny, who was born in Puerto Rico.
Turning Point USA Halftime Show Lineup
The halftime show is headlined by Kid Rock, who said, “We plan to play great songs for folks who love America,” in a statement announcing his performance.
Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett are also expected to perform at the halftime show, which will begin "around" 8 p.m. ET.
“The All-American Halftime Show is an opportunity for all Americans to enjoy a halftime show with no agenda other than to celebrate faith, family, and freedom,” Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet said of the halftime show. “We set out to provide an entertainment option that will be fun, excellent, and exciting for the entire family while millions are gathered together for the big game. These performers will deliver exactly that, and we can’t wait to watch the incredible show they’re about to put on. We know millions around the country will be watching too.”
The halftime show will be shown on YouTube, X, and Rumble. In addition to social media, the program will air on partner platforms, including Daily Wire+, Real America’s Voice, TBN, CHARGE!, The National News Desk, NTD.com, and OAN News.
Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
