Gavin Newsom Tells Female AG “Go F— Yourself” as He Defends Illegal Abortion Pills
California Gov. Gavin Newsom unleashed a vulgar tirade against Louisiana’s female attorney general yesterday as he defending allowing illegal abortion pills to flow into pro-life states.
Newsom told a female Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill to “go fuck yourself” as he defended his state’s refusal to extradite abortionists accused of illegally mailing abortion pills to Louisiana residents, a move pro-life advocates say endangers women and unborn babies by circumventing state laws designed to protect life.
The exchange erupted on social media after Newsom posted about Louisiana’s plans to sue him and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul for blocking extradition requests.

“Louisiana plans to sue me because I won’t extradite a doctor for providing an abortion,” Newsom wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “@AGLizMurrill: Go fuck yourself. California will never help you criminalize healthcare.”
Murrill fired back, emphasizing her state’s commitment to defending unborn life.
“Bless your heart, @GavinNewsom,” she replied. “Killing Louisiana babies isn’t healthcare, nor is shielding California drug dealers. The sovereign State of Louisiana will defend life. See ya soon.”
U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, a Louisiana Republican and physician, condemned Newsom’s stance, highlighting one of the cases involving coercive abortion.
“You’re defending a so-called doctor who sent abortion pills to a MAN so he could coerce his girlfriend into aborting their baby that she wanted to keep,” Cassidy posted on X. “That is not health care, it’s drug dealing. You should be ashamed of yourself for facilitating this behavior.”
The lawsuit, announced by Murrill, stems from two cases where abortionists in California and New York are accused of mailing abortion-inducing drugs to Louisiana residents, violating the state’s laws that prohibit abortion and protect women and unborn children from the harms of such pills.
Pro-life leaders rallied behind Murrill’s action, criticizing shield laws in states like California and New York that protect abortion pill sellers from accountability.
Benjamin Clapper, executive director of Louisiana Right to Life, praised Murrill’s efforts.
“Louisiana Right to Life wholeheartedly supports AG Murrill’s consistent effort to protect Louisiana women and their unborn babies,” he said. “AG Murrill has never backed down from a challenge when it comes to enforcing Louisiana’s pro-life laws, and we stand behind her in this next phase of that effort. We have been sounding the alarm for years on the dangers of abortion pills and the ways they harm women, destroy families, and take innocent lives. Our state has made its policy to protect women and unborn babies clear. States like California and New York should not be able to force their desire to protect abortion on every other state.”
Erica Inzina, policy director for Louisiana Right to Life, called the shield laws an admission of wrongdoing.
“California and New York doctors have been hiding for too long behind so-called shield laws to save them from accountability for their criminal activity,” she said. “Frankly, the very existence of ‘shield’ laws shows that they know what they are doing is both illegal and medical malpractice. Otherwise, these sham laws would not be necessary. Regardless of one’s views on elective abortion, as consumers we should all be very skeptical of such sweeping efforts to shield wrongdoers from accountability at the expense of those harmed. Louisiana lawmakers and law enforcement have worked very hard to protect women and their unborn babies from the harm of abortion pills, as is their right and duty. Shield laws allow doctors to profit off of harming women and babies in Louisiana with impunity. It is illegal. It is immoral. And it is time for these shield laws to come down. If out-of-state doctors aren’t committing crimes, they do not need shield laws to protect them. Stop being cowards, and show up to defend your actions.”
Inzina added that the issue is not about abortion access in other states but about interference with Louisiana’s sovereignty.
“Nobody is arguing that they can’t allow abortion in their own states,” she said. “The problem is that they are forcing their devotion to abortion on other states and impeding states like Louisiana from upholding their own laws that protect women and their unborn babies. If doctors like Remy Coeytaux and Margaret Carpenter want to provide abortions in their own states, then sure – Louisiana can’t stop them. But Louisiana also has the right to prohibit abortion and abortion pills for the protection of its citizens. Our leaders have made it abundantly clear that they intend to do just that, and we support Attorney General Murrill’s commitment to enforcing our laws.”
