A Real Couple Were Married During Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show
As far as wedding singers go, you probably can't get any better than having Bad Bunny and Lady Gaga perform at your reception.
During Bad Bunny's halftime show performance at Super Bowl LX, he tosses a ring to a man to propose to his girlfriend. Later in the show, we're invited as viewers to a wedding ceremony, where Gaga makes a guest appearance with a big band, performing a Spanish-language rendition of her #1 smash hit, Die With a Smile. Together, she and Bunny salsa dance alongside the other guests as part of a Puerto Rican party spectacular.
According to insiders at the Super Bowl close to Bad Bunny, the wedding wasn't just a prop for the musicians and dancers to get together and celebrate. Rather, hundreds of millions of viewers at home just unknowingly became guests at a real-life wedding. There's even a very sweet story about Bad Bunny fulfilling two fans' request.
According to Rohan Nadkarni of NBC News, the wedding from the performance was actually a fully legal wedding ceremony, performed by an ordained reverend and all. Every wedding needs a witness — so the lucky, currently unnamed, couple probably had the largest guest list ever created.
Nadkarni also reports that the couple initially invited Bad Bunny to their planned wedding. He, in turn, invited them to get married live on stage during his Super Bowl halftime performance. He even brought some special guests, including Ricky Martin in a follow-up musical moment, as well as Pedro Pascal, Jessica Alba, Karol G, and Cardi B, making cameos as background dancers during the show.
As far as wedding venues go, Levi's Stadium in the middle of the biggest game in American sports is certainly an unusual one. However, with the sweet serenade by Lady Gaga, and themes of love and partying peppered throughout Bunny's performance, you couldn't say it didn't make for a romantic one.
