'Yellowstone' Star Luke Grimes Shares Unexpected Career Move as Fans React
For Luke Grimes, the western life doesn't stop with Yellowstone.
The actor recently announced his album Redbird, due for release on April 3. The announcement, shared across the 42-year-old's social media pages, was accompanied by the release of a new single, titled "Love You Now."
This is not Grimes's first musical endeavour, with the star releasing a self-titled EP back in 2024. He has also performed at several country music festivals, including Montana's Under The Big Sky, CMA Fest, and Stagecoach Festival.
Luke starred as Kayce Dutton on the western drama series from 2018 to 2024, the same year he released his first EP. Although music is a new focus of his with the upcoming album announcement, he will be reprising his role in the Yellowstone spin-off, Marshals, which premieres in March.
On social media, admirers of Luke's work as an actor and his early musical work praised the new track and shared their excitement over the ten-track album's pending release.
Fans Respond to Luke Grimes’s Album Announcement
Many users on social media praised the new country song's sentimental, romantic style on the cross-platform post regarding Grimes' album announcement.
"It’s a beautiful song. Congratulations," cyearling17 commented on Instagram, regarding "Love You Now."
"Awesome. Looking forward to enjoying this project. Congratulations Luke," Tracy Bailey responded on Facebook.
Victor Flores Villavicencio wrote, "I’ll ask her hand using this song." High praise indeed for a debut single.
Many of the actor-turned-singer's fans, including countless international fans, were quick to request a concert near them.
"UK tour?" jekkabg commented on Instagram, accompanied by some eye emojis.
"Maybe for summer 2027 i should warn my mayor to invite you and your band where we live in north-west Italy," Mark O'Provey responded on Facebook.
Others were quick to pick up on the album title's wink to the actor's origins, with the titular red bird likely referencing the cardinal, the official state bird of Luke's home state of Ohio.
