East Bay man charged with raping woman as she slept at Walnut Creek BART parking lot
WALNUT CREEK — An East Bay man has been charged with breaking into a woman’s car and sexually assaulting her as she slept in the parking garage of the Walnut Creek BART station, court records show.
Christopher Nadhan, 31, was charged with forcible rape and forcible sexual penetration in the Oct. 25, 2025 incident. Last week, a Contra Costa judge held him to answer on the charges and set his arraignment for March 2.
Nadhan, who has listed addresses in Hayward and Oakland, is being held without bail, court records show.
The woman reported to police that she had spent the evening hanging out and drinking with a friend in San Francisco, and took BART back to Walnut Creek. She decided to take a nap in her car, and awoke with a man on top of her inside the vehicle, according to court records.
Nadhan was identified as the suspect from surveillance footage showing him moving around the area around the time of the sexual assault.
Loss prevention officers at a nearby Target also provided police footage from inside their store, where a man matching Nadhan’s description — and outfit — was stopped for alleged shoplifting the next day, authorities said. The man identified himself as “Scott Chris” to the security guards, but provided Nadhan’s exact date of birth, police said.
