Why We Love This Deal
Whether or not Vans knew it at the time, the brand ended up building one of the most versatile sneakers, perhaps in its history; that's saying a lot. The booming UltraRange can handle more than just pavement, bridging skate style with legitimate comfort and even trails. Now in its second iteration, finding them on sale can be hit or miss, but there's a pair over at Dick's Sporting Goods with a rare discount, and sizes are still available.
Now just $65 at Dick’s Sporting Goods, the Vans MTE UltraRange 2.0 Sneakers can take you just about anywhere on or off the beaten path thanks to comprehensive cushioning and a rugged reverse waffle outsole that digs into surfaces for enhanced grip. At Dick's, the one on sale is a versatile brown color that pairs well with anything and is available in sizes 8 to 13.

These are technically part of the brand’s MTE series (more on that in a minute) and are the second gen of the UltraRange lineup, which was designed for daily wear and for handling basic trails. They weigh just over 10.5 ounces and have a slight 7mm drop that is paired with the brand’s UltraCrush Lite midsoles for some heavenly lightweight cushioning. The suede overlays add more durability, while the reverse waffle lugged rubber soles give good grip on skateboards and terrain. Finish it off with the iconic Sidestripe, and you can move around the city streets to dirt paths with ease.
Over time, Vans’ MTE (Made for the Elements) offerings have evolved. According to Reddit, some UltraRange models, like this one, are tagged with MTE at retailers like Dick’s, while the exact same models are not listed with the MTE tag on Vans' own website. They’re the same sneakers, but Vans has broadened its MTE lineup to include varying levels of weatherization and now offers more lifestyle-based models. So, you may find some with the tag and others without.
The UltraRange lineup also includes another popular option: its EXO models, which are generally more supportive, have more tech-forward uppers, and cost around $140. This model keeps things lighter and cleaner, and gives you a bit more versatility for daily wear. Plus, this deal from Dick’s is the best we could find, as they are still full price over on the brand’s own site.

What Wearers Are Saying
At Dick’s, reviews are practically non-existent, but on the brand’s site, it has a 4.68-star rating, with almost all reviews noting how comfortable they are. One shopper even confessed that they’re “so comfortable that I may have achieved a state of mind that can only be described as 'nirvana.'” A bit over the top? Perhaps. But they're not far off.
Another called these “super comfortable” shoes perfect for durability, working in a shop all day, while adding, “they've become my go-to for long days on my feet without sacrificing any style.”
If you’re looking for insane all-day comfort in a modern silhouette, with just enough Vans style, these sneakers are it. At only $65, these MTE UltraRange kicks give you a little bit of tech for anything you may encounter—grab your size before they sell out.
