Eric Dane Dead - 'Grey's Anatomy' Actor Dies at 53 After Battle with ALS
Eric Dane has passed away at the age of 53.
The beloved Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria died on Thursday (February 19) after a battle with ALS, which is also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Eric announced his diagnosis just 10 months ago and confirmed that he was continuing to act, despite his health battle. He filmed scenes for the third season of Euphoria before his death.
The news of Eric‘s death was confirmed by his family in a statement.

“With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS,” the family told People. “He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world. Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight. He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he’s received. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time.”
Eric married actress Rebecca Gayheart in 2004 and they shared two daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13. Despite their breakup many years ago, Rebecca requested a dismissal of her divorce petition last year. She spoke out about Eric in a new essay back in December.
Just a few weeks ago, Eric dropped out of an appearance at an ALS event due to his health battle.
Eric made a TV appearance just a couple months ago.
