New Corbet's Couloir Webcam Captures Skier's Big Mistake
In case you missed it, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Wyoming, has installed a webcam at the top of Corbet's Couloir this season.
The webcam is pointed directly at Corbet's infamous headwall, giving online spectators a front-row view as local pros and fearful tourists alike drop into the famous trail.
Corey Jackson was watching the Corbet's Couloir webcam feed recently and captured a funny moment when a skier accidentally slid backward, or "switch" into the couloir.

It probably goes without saying, but the majority of skiers try not to slide into Corbet's Couloir backwards.
Most skiers, who aren't game for a big air into Corbet's, opt to slide in on the "Goat Path" from the opposite side of the mouth of the couloir. Why this skier attempted to slide in from the skier's left side, I'm not sure, but even if he hadn't spun around backwards, the hard left turn he would have needed to make would have been nearly impossible.
The comments section has joined in, expressing disbelief and bewilderment at the skier's decision-making.
"Gunna try it switch this year," writes one commenter. "New approach," chimes in a sarcastic skier. "That camera is the best thing to happen to the mountain in 20 years," offers another.

Without knowing the extent of the skier's injuries in the video, I'm going to avoid making any jokes, but here's hoping his mistake prevents others from attempting the same entrance. Just slide in on the Goat Path and bang that left turn. It's the way to go.
That's all I'm going to offer at this point... Here's hoping he's okay, too!
You can tune into the Corbet's Couloir webcam each morning at 9 a.m. MST on Jackson Hole Mountain Resort's website. Enjoy.
