Mondraker Finally Release the New Summum
The Mondraker Summum has been a not-so-guarded secret in the last 6 months, and this World-Cup and USA DH National Champs winning bike has been ridden hard by Ronan Dunne and Ryan Pinkerton in that time. But we are finally getting a close look at what is probably the most talked-about DH bike in the world right now. This is the new Mondraker Summum, and it's got a staggering amount of adjustability and a race-winning pedigree that deserve all the hype. Downhill racing and tech are really having a moment right now.
Mondraker
This new model features an entirely updated suspension kinematics, which Mondraker is calling "Zero Suspension System," providing better performance with increased mid-stroke support - exactly where it's needed most. This results in a faster bike on the track, improved handling, and more supple suspension off the top, which aligns perfectly with the launch of the new RockShox BoXXer and Vivid Coil.
Major Changes
Mondraker
The trend of longer, slacker bikes continues to dominate in the DH world, and the Summum now has a longer reach, with slacker head tube angles directly inspired by feedback from World Cup racers, and the execution proved positive during testing. The new Summum comes with race-ready, dedicated geometry as standard, but experienced riders who wish to customize their setup or adapt the bike to various tracks or riding styles can choose from up to 27 configurations. This is made possible through adjustable headset cups, a lower shock-mount flip chip, and adjustable rear dropouts.
Mondraker
- Headset-Reach adjusts with three positions, standard and +/-5mm.
- Lower shock-mount flip chip to adjust bottom bracket height +/-5mm, and angles +/-0.35°.
- Adjustable rear dropouts +/-5mm (450mm or 460mm options) from 455mm standard chainstay length.
New Sealed Bearings, Internal Cable Routing, Custom Rubber Frame Protection
Mondraker
The new Summum features unified bearing sizing at all pivot points, dedicated mounting hardware, and rubber seals to enhance protection against shuttle scuffs, crashes, and foul weather, boosting durability and reliability so you don't need to stress about your bike all season long. It includes a guided internal routing system that makes installation easier, prevents rattling noise, and facilitates easier maintenance between races.
The redesigned rubber protectors on the chainstay, downtube, and bottom bracket help reduce noise and protect the frame from impacts and debris. Additionally, a downtube protector prevents damage during chairlift rides or when loading into a van.
