Savannah Guthrie Is Now Offering A $1 Million Reward For Information About Her Missing Mother
84-year-old Nancy Guthrie was kidnapped on January 31. For weeks, local police and the FBI have been searching for clues about who took her and where she might be. Multiple ransom requests were received and the Guthrie family agreed to pay $6 million, but that never happened (likely because the family’s proof of life request was never met).
The investigation produced several videos from Nancy’s destroyed Nest camera, despite the fact that she never paid for a subscription for these images to be stored. It is now known that those videos were captured on different nights. This means it’s likely the kidnapper(s) were planning ahead.
Now, TODAY show anchor Savannah Guthrie is offering a $1 million reward for information that leads to her mother’s recovery. She announced the reward on her Instagram, where she has released several videos pleading for Nancy’s return. This is in addition to the existing $100,000 reward.
Savannah also announced that her family is donating $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. She explained, “We also know that we are not alone in our loss. We know there are millions of families that have suffered from this uncertainty… We hope that the attention that has been given to our mom and our family will extend to all the families like ours who are in need.”
The Guthrie family says they still have hope in a miracle.
