Final Seasons of Hit NBC Comedy Now Streaming on Netflix
Netflix has added the final two seasons of beloved NBC comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine to its catalog five years after the show ended.
On the same day, Netflix removed seasons three and four due to licensing agreements that dictate a rotating selection of episodes on the platform.
'Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Finale Is Now Available to Stream
Netflix has been home to Brooklyn Nine-Nine for years, but the streamer has never been able to get all seasons of the show available at the same time. This is partly due to the show's complicated licensing, having moved from Fox to NBC half way through its existence.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine follows an ensemble of NYPD officers on duty in Brooklyn, with each episode centering around a different case that's brought to their doorstep. The show has been widely praised for its lovable characters and sharp political messaging, which often discusses the role of the police force in America.
Andy Samberg plays the lead role of Jake Peralta, with the rest of the ensemble filled out by Melissa Fumero, Andre Braugher, Chelsea Peretti, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Lo Truglio, and Terry Crews.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine received eleven Emmy nominations throughout its 8-season run, with two back-to-back victories in Outstanding Stunt Coordination. Andre Braugher was nominated on four separate occasions in the Best Supporting Actor category for his dryly comedic role as Captain Holt.
Due to Brooklyn Nine-Nine's rotating presence on Netflix, fans should expect season five and six to disappear from the platform at some point in the future—giving the perfect incentive to binge through what's currently available.
For those who don't have a Netflix subscription, all eight seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine are also available to stream at no extra charge on Peacock.
